It is where district residents, workers, neighbors, and visitors go to collaborate, eat, unwind, and enjoy a variety of events, activities, and programs. HqO also houses the AMP, an artisan marketplace, and flexible office space operated by the global startup incubator 1776.

In preparing for the opening of Machyne, we proactively sought ways to reduce COVID-related risks for our members and visitors. From sanitation practices to occupancy limitations, we are committed to creating a safe and healthy environment for all. We will continue to review and adjust our COVID-19 practices and policies, and share timely updates with our members whenever changes are made.

All Machyne members and visitors are required to wear a mask at all times. Equipment, work areas and all other surfaces will be thoroughly and regularly sanitized by members and staff.

Yes! We offer eight private studio spaces at Machyne, a few of which remain available. To learn more about private studio availability, contact us.

Machyne is divided into three areas: the Workshop, the Design Space and the Media Lab. In the Workshop, you’ll find tools for metal fabrication, welding, CNC routing, CNC plasma cutting, CNC milling/turning,CNC waterjet, vacuum forming, laser cutting and woodworking. In the Design Space, you’ll get access to 3D printing, electronics, programming, vinyl cutting and design software. In the Media Lab you’ll find tools for virtual reality, augmented reality, photography, videography and podcasting.

At Machyne, we’re committed to building a diverse community within a makerspace that is accessible to all. In order to keep our monthly membership fees low, tool use is billed on an hourly basis, rather than bundled into membership costs. This way, members may pick and choose the specific tools they’d like to use without extra fees incurred.

Our tool-use rates are as follows:

Yes, we offer a Training Session for each tool. Members must complete and pass the Training Session for the tool they wish to use, in order to be ‘approved’ to use that tool.  This website will be updated to include information on training sessions and classes soon.

Yes! Volunteer opportunities include general workshop maintenance and upkeep, front desk management, training and event support and more. To sign up for volunteer opportunities, click here.

Yes! While some events are exclusive to members only, much of our programming is open to the public. Check back soon for a more detailed schedule of classes, events, workshops and more offered at Machyne.
